Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D. is a Partner of AMAR Law Firm & Public Interest Law Office (AMAR). He has expertise in environmental law, climate change law, human rights law, public international law, and the Indonesian legal system. His book (monograph) ‘The Protection of Indigenous Peoples and Reduction of Forest Carbon Emissions: The REDD-Plus Regime and International Law’ has been collected by the Harvard Law School LibraryYale’s Lillian Goldman Law Library, and Stanford’s Robert Crown Law Library. He is currently the Vice Rector for Academics and Student Affairs at President University. As an academic, he is one of the judges of the Asian Legal Business (Thomson Reuters) Southeast Asia Law Awards (2018-2021) and Indonesia Law Awards (2015 & 2017-2021). He is also a member of the Ethics Committee of the Indonesian Joint Funding Fintech Association (Asosiasi Fintech Pendanaan Bersama Indonesia / APFI). He received his Sarjana Hukum (S.H.) from Fakultas Hukum Universitas Indonesia, his LL.M. from George Washington University Law School, and his Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh.
