Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D.

As a partner at AMAR, Handa is primarily responsible for conducting international research projects for our clients. He has gained global experience in international-scale research projects during his tenure as a partner at AMAR.

His research has been published in several Scopus-indexed law journals. His book (monograph) entitled “The Protection of Indigenous Peoples and the Reduction of Forest Carbon Emissions: The REDD-Plus Regime and International Law” has been collected by the Harvard Law School Library, Yale’s Lillian Goldman Law Library, and Stanford’s Robert Crown Law Library.

As an academic, Handa serves as the Vice Rector for Academics and a lecturer at President University. He has been entrusted by the Asian Legal Business (Thomson Reuters) to be a judge for the prestigious ALB SE Asia Law Awards from 2018 to 2023, and the ALB Indonesia Law Awards in 2015, and from 2017 to 2022. He is a member of the Ethics Committee of the Indonesia Fintech Lending Association (AFPI) (2021-until now) and currently holds the position of Chairperson of the Ethics Board at President University.

Handa graduated from Universitas Indonesia (S.H.), the George Washington University Law School (LL.M.), and the University of Edinburgh Law School (Ph.D.).
